1. The Hot Mommas® Project - We produce role models on paper for girls and women to be used by educators in the classroom. 2. Surprises – There is always something. The babysitter is on vacation, our interns (we’re housed at George Washington University) are in finals, or a car is broken, so – I not only have to make Plan A and Plan B, I need to have a Plan C.

3. Mutlitasking – I am a certified business junkie. But, my day is not just business. My life is not just business. It can’t be. I have two small kids (Maxwell and Delilah aka “Lilah”), and a husband (Josh), and a lot of family nearby (too many to name), and a really cute dog (Foxy).

5.50 am
Eeek. I try never to get up at anything beginning with a “5”, but – this is a big day. I log onto www.1888pressrelease.com to check on the status of the press release about our judges. I also need to start preparing emails to the judges, themselves, so they can help us get the word out. Press releases are dated, hence my sense of urgency to start early. I sent a “head’s up” email to the judges several days before....

5:50 am - 7:00 am
Achin (who works with the Hot Mommas Project) and I correspond back and forth about updating the judges page at www.HotMommasProject.org. One of the judges is missing a picture, and - semi-pathetically - I begin combing through proofs from my wedding a decade ago, because one of the judges attended my wedding. I try to get a grip and prioritize. No one is going to die if we don’t have her picture up today.
During this time, my 5 year-old son is obsessively asking me, “Mommy. Where’s my robot?” I am working at home due to the series of events scheduled to take place at my house today. I am wondering if this was a big error.

7:00 am
Peapod arrives. Our dog goes nuts. My husband leaves for an early meeting.
I have a headache. I correspond with judges.

7:56 am
Coffee in hand. Good. Kids “cleaning” bathroom. As part of this, my son has successfully negotiated away from me a LUSH bath fizz ball thingy because he says, he just “needs a quarter of it.” (Apologies to Stephanie Gresham, the incredibly wonderful Senior Secy at the Department of Management who gave me that bath ball.)

7.59 am
Karen Kerrigan, one of our judges, informs me she is going to blast our release to all her sources so hopefully that will help compensate for the fact that we have no PR firm, and rely on the media office at GW. We are kind of co-dependent on Racine Tucker-Hamilton at GW.

8:10 am
I go upstairs to find my phone, do a bunch of other stuff, and come down without my phone.

8:14 am
I go back up to get my phone. I have made the grave error of putting it on “silent”, which means an archaeological dig is likely going to ensue. Naturally, I find my phone on top of a pile of clothes on top of the hamper.

8:15 am
Our press release is up. It officially looks great, and I officially love www.888pressrelease.com. The traffic is crashing our site, almost.] Achin texts me to say the judges page will be ready in an hour.

8:26 am
I hear my daughter upstairs, now with Nat - our babysitter and surrogate big sister - saying, “Supew girw to da wescuuuuu!” For those of you who do not speak “Toddler”, this means “Super girl to the rescue.” While I generally consider working at home a couple of days a week (when I’m not at GW) to be a disaster, there are moments like this that are too cute.

8:45 am
The painter arrives. Oh, did I not mention this? Yeah. Have our painter/handyman coming today to fix some of my son’s handiwork from the summer (pictured at top of post). This was highly dumb to plan this for today. When my husband says, “Let’s just keep it simple,” I am almost certain this is NOT what he means.

10:34 am
After a lot of back and forthing, we’re ready to go. I’m going on Twitter to announce the judges.

12:00 pm
Judges announced on Twitter, now, time for the blogs. We post on our blogs, SHINE, BlogHer, and consider others such as Skirt and Powder Room Diaries. This takes a while.

2:00 pm
Achin and I deal with any problems folks have accessing our site, or getting logged in. We are an all-intern operation (aside from myself – but, I am not paying myself so, I am like a grown-up intern. This is a far, but fun, cry from my cushy consulting and non profit executive days. I don’t care, because I’m having a blast, and I saved a bunch of money to be able to launch this case competition while I take no salary for a year.) $25,000 and 4 interns are getting us through this.

3:00 pm
I let our existing and in-process case authors know about our announcement. I also tell them about the next giveaway (2 bags on January 4). Post this all on Facebook. Also let my Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership class at GW know about it in case they are interested.

4:30 pm
I look over our handyman’s work around the house. Here is the “before picture”. Ahhhh…The joy of toddlers.

5:00 pm
Cleaning up emails. Making list of top 3-5 things to accomplish the next day or, two days later since I work part-time. As a productivity trick, I will often go all day without looking at my email on my computer. It is the vortex.. I will scroll through my blackberry if I’m out picking up my kids or heating up coffee to see if there is something urgent. Otherwise, on high-pressure days like this, I will jam out a few emails at the end of the day. I shorten my responses and am much more efficient. There is an epidemic in corporate America of people being busy, but not accomplishing anything. Email is a big part of that. The top 3-5 list is also a big part of making sure I’m clear and directed each day because – as you can see – there is a lot going on around here.

6:00 pm
This is THE cut-off time in our family for work. My husband works across the street from our house, so, it is fairly simple to pull-off. Locating his business close to our house is probably one of the single smartest things we ever did. We had no idea how smart until we had kids. Then we really needed to have our logistics game on.

I've often postulated that many boxers are on HGH. To my knowledge,

Seriously I'd say that a lot of athletes and sportsmen and women take ugg store. If a drug that effective and being available for so long has had no reliable way to test for it until the last few years then many athletes are going to have used it.
