Tania Galarza, Managing Consultant, McKinley Marketing, Inc. has been with the firm since 2005. Tania works exclusively with non-profit organizations (associations) across industries...

...from children’s hospitals to corporate board of directors. Tania is responsible for working with her clients to overcome their organizational challenges that can range from strengthening their position in the marketplace to identifying opportunities to better meet the needs of their constituencies. Outside of work, Tania volunteers her time to women, small business owners to assist them with their marketing strategy and execution.

Prior to McKinley, Tania spent six years with Capital One managing staff as well as strategic initiatives for the firm. Tania was a member of the management team assigned to start-up Capital One’s Seattle-based customer service call center. As Senior Manager of Operations, Tania was responsible for overseeing four managers and 100 phone representatives as part of a team tasked with moving 1 million customers to register and be active on one of the first online banking websites. With this success, the Seattle-based call center was able to generate significant marketing and revenue opportunities for the company. While in Seattle, Tania was selected to participate in a community leadership program aimed at exposing business leaders to the needs of the local community and opportunities to enhance corporate responsibility. She also served as a YMCA and Make A Wish Foundation volunteer.

Tania graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Finance (Cox ‘96) and received a MBA from Georgetown University (MSB ’05). While at Georgetown, Tania served as the co-Director of the Nonprofit Internship Fund which blossomed into a scholarship fund valued at 3x its size at the end of her leadership. Prior to her MBA, Tania spent one year as the Director of Marketing for The Empower Program, a non-profit organization working with students, parents and educators to end the culture of violence among youth. Tania worked directly with Empower founder and national speaker, Rosalind Wiseman (author of Queenbees and Wannabees, the inspiration for Tina Fey’s movie, Mean Girls), to promote her work and get the program in front of schools across the country. Tania’s work at Empower helped shaped her desire to work with non-profit organizations.

Tania is a wine enthusiast, participating in a DC-based wine club that travels the US and the globe in pursuit of new and tasty varietals, and has recently taken up tennis and boxing to help her maintain a healthy body and spirit. Tania also actively serves as a student recruitment volunteer for the Georgetown MBA program and is a season ticket holder and fan of the Hoya basketball team.
